In an open letter directed at the Health Minister, Dr Shane Reti, Guy Hatchard details his evidence suggesting a plausible correlation between COVID vaccination and elevated rates of all-cause mortality. 

Hatchard suggests comparing health outcomes of vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts separated by age and cause of death. Hatchard notes the obvious need to correct this deficiency in data three years after the introduction of COVID vaccination in New Zealand.

Despite tacit acknowledgement of a potential uptick in mortality risk among vaccinated cohorts, Health NZ argues that people who have received COVID vaccines or booster shots may appear to have a higher risk of dying from any cause compared to those who haven’t been vaccinated. 

They assume this apparent increase in risk is likely due to the fact that vaccinated individuals are more likely to be older, and age itself is a significant factor in mortality risk. However, HealthNZ states they don’t want to conduct the appropriate analysis because it can be time-consuming. 

Hatchard also notes the reply to an OIA reveals an order of the Employment Relations Authority somehow prevents access to data from the National Vaccination Database, hindering research into any potential link between COVID vaccination and all-cause mortality.
