Probe links Trump shooter to NZ encrypted messaging account

A Congressional task force has revealed that Thomas Crooks, the gunman who attempted to assassinate former US President Donald Trump, used encrypted messaging accounts on platforms based in New Zealand, Belgium, and Germany. Rep. Michael Waltz, a member of the task force, highlighted the suspicious nature of a 19-year-old health care aid using overseas encrypted platforms, questioning Crooks’ motives. New Zealand Police have remained silent on their involvement in the investigation, stating only that they cooperate with international counterparts on legal matters as required.
