Respirator expert’s 2020 open letter on the uselessness of  masks against COVID  still resonates worldwide years later

Summarised by Centrist

In respirator expert Chris Schaefer’s open letter from 2020, he wrote:

“It is dangerous to recommend, much less mandate anyone with medical conditions to wear a mask without educating them about the risks involved in wearing them without having been pre-screened and approved by a medical professional first.”

It’s a message that still resonates nearly four years later.

His letter challenges the recommendations of masking in public, and questions the efficacy of N95 masks, which he deems as “breathing barriers” rather than viral protection.

Despite facing heavy censorship online, Schaefer’s letter, originally directed to Alberta’s then chief medical officer, prompted inquiries and correspondence worldwide.

Schaefer’s expertise and advocacy against masks have led to engagements with government officials, medical conferences, and individuals globally.

When asked by a tribunal if he would wear an N95 mask if ordered to by his professional organisation, Schaefer’s comments “My health is more important than my job” were nixed from  the transcript.

“So if masks are not effective in preventing illness, what is?” asks Schaefer.

“How about the age-old tried, tested and proven method of protecting our health with a healthy diet, clean water, avoidance of processed, junk and fast foods, plenty of fresh air, sunshine, moderate exercise, adequate restful sleep and avoidance of stress?” he says.
